American supergroup The Dead Weather are set to stream a show live on MySpace next week.
The Dead Weather are that rare beast – a much hyped band who actually live up to the anticipation. Debut album ‘Horehound’ was an overwhelming success, turning the band into a globally recognised name.
Since then, The Dead Weather have split off into a myriad of side projects. Jack White has focussed his energy on Third Man Records, while Alison Mosshart has been working with The Kills.
However the band have seemingly found the time to record new material, with their second album ‘Sea Of Cowards’ due to be released soon.
The Dead Weather have been typically enigmatic about the release. However the supergroup have revealed that they are set to perform ‘Sea Of Cowards’ in its entirety live, with the show being streamed on MySpace on May 3rd.
Performing in the Third Man building in Nashville – site of their first ever show – The Dead Weather will play the whole of their new album. Meanwhile, the group have also unveiled special plans for a pre-release stream.
‘Sea Of Cowards’ will be streaming on The Dead Weather’s website, with a video camera focussing on a vinyl edition of the album. Playing live, the stream will also features some as yet un-named guest DJs.
Taking place today (April 30th) the live stream begins at 1pm (EST) or 6pm (GMT). Available in an embeddable player, this will mark the first time that The Dead Weather’s new album will be broadcast to fans.
The Dead Weather are to release ‘Sea Of Cowards’ on May 11th.
