Jack White’s latest supergroup The Dead Weather could be set to tour throughout the summer and release new material.
The busiest man in rock, Jack White has a work schedule that Donald Trump would be proud of. When not spitting out some mean riffs with The White Stripes or The Raconteurs the Detroit guitarist is also an in demand producer.
Adding to all that is his new group The Dead Weather. The band have only played one show but are already one of the most hyped groups on the planet. The Dead Weather will release their debut album ‘Horehound’ later this year but in a new interview guitarist Dean Fertita reveals that the band have more new material up their sleeve.
In an interview with US magazine Billboard the musician said that the material includes original songs left off ‘Horehound’ and covers of Them’s ‘You Just Can’t Win’ as well as The Downliner Sect’s ‘Outside’.
“We still feel very much in the creative mode,” he said. “We don’t feel like we’re ready to stop. I think we’re going to try to maybe get a jump on. I don’t know if it’ll be a second record or singles to release throughout the year. There are a few things floating around, and there will be more soon, too.”
The group also features Jack Lawrence and The Kills’ Alison Mosshart. The Dead Weather played their debut show in the Nashville offices of White’s Third Man Records imprint, with only 150 people allowed to attend.
Fertita also told Billboard that the band have plans to tour throughout summer. “We know June through August we’ll be doing a lot,” he confirmed. “We plan to keep going through the fall and possibly beyond.”
