De La Soul’s Catalogue Is Coming To Streaming

Finally.

De La Soul’s back catalogue is coming to streaming.

The New York group formed in the late 80s, with Posdnuos, Trugoy, and Maseo building their own take on hip-hop culture. Vivid and colourful, De La Soul’s self-proclaimed Daisy Age found worldwide success, resulting in a string of hits.

Focussing on the craft, albums such as ‘De La Soul Is Dead’ in 1991 and the Dilla production elements on ‘Stakes Is High’ (1996) were marked by a mature sense of evolution.

Label wrangles kept De La Soul away from streaming services, arguably denying a fresh generation the chance to experience their catalogue in full.

Following an agreement, De La Soul hit streaming on March 3rd, with their full catalogue available to stream for the very first time. “It’s been 20 plus years overdue, but finally, we are here,” says DJ Maseo.

The move includes ‘3 Feet High and Rising’ (1989), ‘De La Soul Is Dead’ (1991), ‘Buhloone Mindstate’ (1993), ‘Stakes Is High’ (1996), ‘Art Official Intelligence: Mosaic Thump’ (2000), and ‘AOI: Bionix’ (2001)

Alongside this, classic cut ‘The Magic Number’ hits streaming on January 13th, with a seven inch and cassingle version also due to become available.
