David Lynch Will Not Direct Twin Peaks Sequel

As dispute over money deepens...

Work on a Twin Peaks sequel was confirmed last year, with David Lynch agreeing to resume his role as writer, director and creative head honcho.

Sadly, the project has been beset by division from the start. Now, David Lynch has confirmed that due to disagreements with Showtime he will not now be involved in the sequel.

Such is the way of things, the director expressed the news via a series of tweets.

In response, Showtime commented:

"We were saddened to read David Lynch’s statement today since we believed we were working towards solutions with David and his reps on the few remaining deal points. Showtime also loves the world of Twin Peaks and we continue to hold out hope that we can bring it back in all its glory with both of its extraordinary creators, David Lynch and Mark Frost, at its helm."
