David Holmes has revealed that Primal Scream are set to release their new album 'More Light' this year.
Spending the bulk of 2011 re-visiting their seminal album 'Screamadelica', Primal Scream never quite succumbed to nostalgia. Continually planning their next move, the band hinted at a stockpile of fresh material which would form the spine of a new album.
Working with David Holmes, the band have already begun introducing new material into their set. This morning, the producer dropped a bombshell on his Facebook page when he revealed that not only did the album have a title but it also had a release date.
"the new primal scream album is sequenced and mastered…its called "more light" and will be released in may…one love! X"
'More Light' is famously the last words of the German poet Johann Wolfgang von Goethe, and marks their first new album since 2009's 'Beautiful Future'.
