Super soundtracker and acclaimed DJ David Holmes is set to return with his first new album since 2003’s seminal “David holmes Presents The Free Association”.
The new album will be called “The Holy Pictures” and is set to be released on September 8th. According to the producer the new album will focus on his childhood in Belfast stating:
“The story of this album really began on the 4th of August 1996, when my mother, Sarah Holmes, passed away. I had always wanted to make a record about my life in Belfast and all the things attached to that – family, friends, loss, love and starting a family of my own. All the stuff that shapes the person you become.”
Emerging from the Belfast house scene, Holmes became first an acclaimed DJ before moving into the world of producing. After the success of 2003’s “David Holmes Presents The Free Association” the producer became an in-demand soundtracker for Hollywood working on Ocean’s Eleven amongst others.
Returning to his roots, “The Holy Pictures” is set to be one of the most fascinating albums of the year.
