David Byrne opened up to CBS Sunday Morning over the weekend.
The segment followed his American Utopia broadway show, and featured footage from the production.
Alongside this there's a revealing interview with the songwriter, in which he reflects on his "outsider" status – David Byrne was born in Scotland, and only emigrated when he was eight years old.
Immersing himself in the New York underground, he discusses the pressures of Talking Heads, before opening up about his search for US citizenship.
Revealing that he was “busted” at the voting booth, David Byrne added: “I firmly believed that green card holders could vote in elections as long as they didn’t vote for president… And I did it! I did it for many years.”
He added: “They were right: There’s a lot of voter fraud!”
