Dave Grohl On Hospital Visit

Caffeine really was to blame

Them Crooked Vultures Dave Grohl has explained the truth behind his recent hospitalisation.

Dave Grohl is one of the most liked men in rock music. The former Nirvana drummer has taken Foo Fighters to world fame, while also joining with friends for a number of one off shows and projects.

Forming Them Crooked Vultures with Josh Homme and John Paul Jones, the trio formed an unstoppable rock unit. Charging across the world in support of their debut album, fans were left shocked recently when Dave Grohl was taken to hospital.

A video from the trio explained that the drummer had simply drank too much coffee. Fans speculated over whether the claims were a joke or not, and in a new interview Dave Grohl admitted that he had indeed ingested too much caffeine.

“We were in the studio making a record and I was drinking a lot of coffee,” he told Absolute Radio.

“I was doing Vultures stuff at night, Foo Fighters stuff during the day and I had a newborn at home so I was sleeping two-three hours a night on an air mattress in a guest bedroom. And yeah, I had too much coffee, I started to get chest pains so I went to the hospital and they told me to stop drinking the coffee.”

Them Crooked Vultures are currently working on their second album, just a few months after their debut record was released. Foo Fighters, meanwhile, recently released a ‘Best Of’ celebrating their career to date.

Them Crooked Vultures recently played a sold out show at London’s Royal Albert Hall as part of the Teenage Cancer Trust series of gigs.
