Dave Grohl Honoured

Foo Fighter Gets Street Named After Him

Former Nirvana drummer and current lynchpin of American act Foo Fighters Dave Grohl to get a street named after him, it has been announced.

After nearly twenty years in music, Dave Grohl has been showered with Gold Discs and other honors but he is set for a very personal tribute. His birthplace in Warren, Ohio has voted to change the name of one of its main streets to that ‘Dave Grohl Alley’.

Currently going by the moniker of Market Alley, a rock station in nearby Youngstown, Ohio created a campaign to have the name changed. Ably assisted by local police sergeant Joe O’Grady, the street will now be changed in honor of the famous sticksman.

Foo Fighters have been in the new recently after slamming US presidential candidate John McCain for using their song ‘My Hero’ without their permission. The band are set to take a break from touring and recording.

There is no word on whether Dave Grohl will attend the opening ceremony.
