Brooklyn based alternative hip hop outfit Das Racist have split up.
The past 12 months have seen a question mark placed over the future of Das Racist. The Brooklyn group have mainly been a touring entity, with Heems and Kool A.D. releasing two mixtapes each under their solo guises.
At the weekend, Das Racist should have been playing in Munich at Germany's On3 Festival. Instead, Heems performed solo and told the crowd: "You guys wanna know the secret? Alright, so I'm going to do some Das Racist songs, but Das Racist is breaking up and we're not a band anymore."

Last night, Kool A.D. tweeted to fans in order to give his side of the story. The rapper wrote: "for the record i quit das racist 2 months ago and was asked by our manager not to announce it yet. apparently @himanshu wanted to do it tho." Responding, Heems replied: "hah dag, my bad dont even remember saying that shit."
