London producer Dark Sky has stepped in to remix Beacon’s ‘Show Me How’.
Electronic duo Beacon recently shared their fourth full length record, with ‘Along The Lethe’ taking their work into new realms. A new remix package aims to expand this work still further, introducing other voices into the digital equation.
Beacon comment…
“These remixes are a way of opening the private sanctuary of making an album. Once an album is out there, it has its own vitality. It can generate new possibilities and relationships with a listener (or in this case, other artists). These remixes are living examples of that. Remixes have always been a special part of the process of making music for us, foremost as fans. It’s an honor to connect with artists whose music affects us to see if there’s an opportunity to manifest something new together.”
The project kicks off with a newly commissioned take on ‘Show Me How’ by Dark Sky. A perpetually evolving artist, the London producer brings his own painterly touch to proceedings, adding fresh daubs of colour.
Playing with different layers, Dark Sky seems to pivot his remix against the vocals, with wistful shades of dark and light serving to illuminate ‘Show Me How’ in a fresh way. He comments…
“It was really tough to choose which track to remix from Beacon’s album but something about the vocals that really grabbed me. The lyrics kind of acted as a brief in a way, challenging me to try something different and unexpected in the hope that it would complement the already wonderful original but from a different perspective.”
Tune in now.
