Voidie breaks his silence with new track ‘pushing daisies’.
The producer and songwriter has been at work in the background for years now, working on countless projects. A fastidious creator, he’s always been reluctant to share his own work, due to his devout perfectionism.
All that changes with new EP ‘Claustrophobic’, which lands in just a few hours. Barbed hyper-pop that arrives draped in darkness, there’s a slight gothic edge to his synth-led vision, one that dives into the work of those early 80s pioneers while forever asserting its own aesthetic qualities.
The project is led by ‘pushing daisies’ which epitomises his desire to blend light and shade, placing opposites in battle with one another.
“I want this to be an escape for people”, Voidie says of the project. “This body of work is a downward spiral into my mind – a deep dive into my battle with addiction, anxiety and depression,” he elaborates: “conflicted thoughts which left me feeling claustrophobic.
As much as it was exhausting pouring my inner burdens and negativity into a microphone, I was relieved to finally and truly express myself and step out of my comfort zone”.
