Daphni’s ‘Arrow’ Purrs Into Life

New 'Cherry' is incoming...

Daphni has shared new track ‘Arrow’.

Caribou’s Dan Snaith returns to his club-focussed Daphni moniker for a new album, with ‘Cherry’ set to land on October 7th. Alongside this, you can also catch Daphni in action in the coming weeks, appearing at London’s Printworks and Manchester’s Warehouse Project.

Ahead of this, Daphni has shared his wonderful new track ‘Arrow’, with its looping minimalism conjuring a subtle sense of bliss. Undulating electronics, the pensive variations make for something restrained, but also laced with light.

A track that seems content to sit in one place, ‘Arrow’ is actually an incredibly difficult thing to pull off – the sheer self-discipline is the mark of an artist operating with full confidence.

Daphni comments…

“‘Arrow’ is one of those tracks that’s happy to sit still – a loop that is content to keep looping and less happy the more fussy the arrangement becomes. There have been some really special moments when I’ve played it out – it’s not ostentatiously showy, no big builds or drops… but it has a way of building a febrile atmosphere in a club. When repetition pays off, it’s like staring at a Magic Eye picture as everything clicks into focus.”

Tune in now.
