Danielle Ponder Announces New Album ‘Everything Has Changed’

It's out on October 9th...

Danielle Ponder will release new album ‘Everything Has Changed’ on October 9th.

The American songwriter only decided to devote herself to music in her late 30s – up until 2021, she was an attorney focused on criminal justice reform, a path shaped by her brother’s sentencing to 20 years to life when she was just 16.

Danielle reached a fork in the road, and chose to devote herself to songwriting. “The lawyer is going to kill me,” she says, “but the artist is going to save me.”

New album ‘Everything Has Changed’ was produced by Grammy Award winner Mike Elizondo alongside Barney Lister, and it lands on October 9th via Dead Oceans.

Out now, new single ‘Sun And Moon’ sits on an entrancing groove, while Danielle’s powerful vocal – “You ain’t no catcher, you just want to chase me” – flips heartbreak into redemption.

She explains…

“I love that this song is upbeat but the lyrics are quite sad. The sun and moon provide a beautiful symbol of two lovers who spend a life chasing each other but never quite coming together. The drums and tempo of the song remind me of the push and pull chase that I’ve been in more than I’d like to admit. It’s not until the end where the drums stop that she realises how exhausted she is with the game and longs for something deeper.”

Tune in now.
