Dance Lessons Share Double Single ‘Wet Batteries’ / ‘I Like Lies’

London avant-pop trio return...

Dance Lessons have shared an exuberant double single.

Out now, the single follows a run of intriguing releases, with Dance Lessons matching purring rhythmic engines to curiously left-field pop melodies. Both direct, and utterly alternative, the trio’s mission statement seems to be finding new solutions to age-old problems.

Formed following an actual dance-off at a London house party, the band’s new double single taps back into their raucous DIY roots. ‘Wet Batteries’ buzzes with avant-pop appeal, fusing the energy of those early DFA Records 12 inches with dazzling melodies.

‘I Like Lies’ meanwhile is slightly darker, and more open, with Dance Lessons utilising a dulcet vocal, so emotional and fragile, yet also so strong.

A pair of contrasting singles, their dichotomous growth is driven forwards by unrelenting creativity and a refusal to be hemmed in.

Tune in now.
