UK house producer Dan Shake has shared new track ‘Spring’.
It’s been a helter-skelter year for the production talent, who has played some of his biggest shows to date. Helming a magnificent Essential Mix for Radio 1, he enters 2023 with a string of huge bookings and an EP in the works.
Out on March 29th via his own Shake Records, ‘Verde’ finds the producer finessing his technical skills while also embracing a new sense of energy. Lockdown saw Dan relocate from London to Devon, and this escapism, and wide open spaces, engendered a timely sense of introspection.
As such, new cut ‘Spring’ finds the balance between euphoria and melancholy, a vein that club culture explores at an intimate level. Lush house music from a producer once tipped for greatness by Moodymann, it’s a real pearl.
He comments…
Usually when I’m touring I am making music in between shows, inspired by the clubs or festivals I had just been to, however I made this track mid-lockdown, recently having moved from London to the middle of nowhere in Devon.
My headspace was in a completely different place… surrounded by nature and silence. The freedom of time also gave me a chance to experiment a little more; using my own vocals for the first time, creating more abstract synths, recording field noises etc.
Tune in now.
