Dan Deacon Hospitalised

US tour cancelled

Baltimore electronic maverick Dan Deacon has been forced to cancel an upcoming American tour due to back problems.

Dan Deacon is unlike anyone else making music today. His albums appear from a one off imagination, a mind that seems to break through barriers that no one had even realised were barriers.

Breakthrough album ‘Spiderman Of The Rings’ was a brain melting burst of electronic, about as close to an LCD trip as a hard drive can get.

Returning this year with ‘Bromst’ the producer has expanded his sound, with continuing success meaning he can finally afford to use professional equipment. Dan Deacon has well known in left field circles, organising a lengthy North American tour to showcase his new material.

However those dates have now been cancelled due to severe back pain. Speaking to fans on Facebook the producer apologised for now playing, but insisted he was far too unwell to hit the road.

“On wednesday evening the pain had come to a peak,” the producer revealed. “It was impossible to bear and it was frightening, since I had no idea why this was happening.”

“I need to focus more on my health, which will lead to a clearer mind and a more focused music.” He explained. “I’m excited about the future and the various paths that are being presented ahead of me. I’m not sure what the future will bring but hopefully I’ll see you there.”

Dan Deacon has cancelled the following shows:

November
16 Purchase SUNY Purchase
18 Baltimore The Ottobar
