Daft Punk Team Up With N.E.R.D.

For new single 'Hypnotize You'

French duo Daft Punk are the guest collaborators on the new single from N.E.R.D.

Hip hop has always had a soft spot for European dance music. From spinning Kraftwerk at block parties in the Bronx to the short lived genre of hip-house rap music has frequently worked with electronic elements.

Daft Punk are a particular favourite. The French duo were extensively sampled by Kanye West for the hit single ‘Stronger’, breaking cover to perform a rare live version with the always outspoken rap giant.

Now the duo have teamed up with N.E.R.D. for a new track. Daft Punk have added guest production to forthcoming single ‘Hypnotize You’ which is taken from the group’s forthcoming album ‘Nothing’.

Due for release on November 2nd, the album contains a number of collaborators. Daft Punk add some typically pulsating production, with N.E.R.D. staying true to their roots with some liquid rhymes.

Meanwhile, the countdown to Daft Punk’s new album has begun. The soundtrack to the upcoming ‘Tron’ re-make was recorded last year in London, with the duo being augmented by a 100 piece orchestra.

Working at the AIR Lyndhurst studios the band have recorded a double album of material, with hype around the project reaching fever pitch.

The album is the first blast of new material from Daft Punk in some five years, and represents their latest cinema project. For their first two albums the French duo released a feature length film alongside the music.

Set to be collated onto a lavish double album, ‘Tron: Legacy’ is without doubt one of the most eagerly anticipated music events of the year.

Daft Punk are due to release ‘Tron: Legacy’ on November 22nd.
