New Zealand group Cut Off Your Hands are preparing to release their new EP ‘Happy As Can Be’ next month and are set to play a week long series of shows in New York.
The band will play the annual CMJ Music Marathon as part of a special showcase on New Zealand based musical acts. Cut Off Your Hands will kick off their run at the New Zealand music showcase at The Delancey on Tuesday (October 21), and will wrap up five shows later at the Public Assembly Crashin’ In Party on October 25.
The band are gearing up to release their new single ‘Happy As Can Be’ through French Kiss records this month. Cut Off Yours Hands are currently putting the finishing touches to their forthcoming debut album, produced by former Suede axeman Bernard Butler. The album, to be titled ‘You And I’, is set to be released in January 2009.
Cut Off Your Hands are already massive in their native New Zealand, and their raucous Libertines inspired racket is set to charm listeners in dear old Blighty. Last year’s ‘Shaky Hands EP’ was well received by critics and earned the band a fledgling cult following in the UK.
