Canadian sonic terrorists Crystal Castles celebrated Halloween with a very special rave in Los Angeles, playing on a bill that also featured Justice and Simian Mobile Disco.
The sold out Hard Haunted Mansion held the bands for what turning out to be a hair raising night of electro. The crowd wore some outlandish and imaginative costumes as the bands and DJs partied long into the night across four stages at the Shrine Expo Hall in Los Angeles.
Crystal Castles played a typically anarchic set with Alice Glass writhing around the stage on all fours. At the end of the set Glass leaped into the crowd before returning to the stage and wrecking the drum kit.
Justice closed the night with a DJ set that lasted more than two hours. Their stunning show whipped the crowd into a frenzy, and featured an extensive reworking of the Simian Mobile Disco song ‘We Are Your Friends’ – on the same stage where that band had appeared only hours before.
