Controversial Canadian duo Crystal Castles have taken forward the release date of their second album.
One of the most divisive groups on the planet, Crystal Castles tend to split audiences down the middle. Gathering a hardcore contingent of fans, the duo have also sparked hatred amongst the chiptune community.
Love them or loathe them the band are impossible to ignore. Crystal Castles spend the bulk of last year working on their second album, which is due to be released later this year.
However nothing in the band’s world is straight forward, with Crystal Castles bringing forward the release date of their second album. Once again self titled, the record will now be released digitally on April 23rd.
Meanwhile the physical release of ‘Crystal Castles’ will follow on May 24th. Brought forward to cope with demand, the Canadian duo have already whetted fans appetites with their new single ‘Doe Deer’.
Released in conjunction with Record Store Day, the 12 inch is a typically confrontational slice of shattering synths and squealing vocals.
Produced by Ethan Kath, the new album was recorded in locations across the globe. Due for release this Friday (April 23rd) the band have also been forced to re-arrange a British tour due to the ongoing travel chaos.
Stuck in the United States after an Icelandic volcano erupted, Crystal Castles have re-arranged their London show for later this Spring.
