Cribs Drummer Breaks Wrist

Album sessions delayed

Ross Jarman of The Cribs has been forced to delay sessions on the band’s new album as he has broken his wrist.

Wakefield’s finest have moved out to Los Angeles to work on their album. The group’s first since ‘Men’s Needs, Women’s Needs, Whatever’ in 2007 the record is eagerly anticipated by fans.

The Cribs first recording with new member Johnny Marr, the group played several new tracks on a recent tour of the UK. Ryan Jarman regularly drew blood at the shows, while bassist Gary Jarman has previously been treated for blood poisoning. However it seems as if the recent tour has taken its toll on the drummer.

A statement from the band says:

“News reaches us that the mishap prone quartet have just recorded most of the drum parts for the record with Ross Jarman playing through what he thought was a wrist sprain – after an incident involving a skateboard – but has actually proven to be a broken wrist, after scans came back confirming the diagnosis from the local hospital”.

The band are currently holed up in Los Angeles’ Seedy Underbelly Studio with producer Nick Launay. Launay has been entrusted with some of British indie music’s biggest names this year, also helming Maximo Park’s new album.

There is no scheduled release date for the new album by The Cribs.
