Cream drummer and legendary rock wildman Ginger Baker is said to be critically ill in hospital.
With his free-flowing style and wild antics Ginger Baker would become one of the defining rock drummers, propelling Cream to stardom before embarking on a lengthy solo career.
Working with Fela Kuti in some seminal recordings, he has continued his daring fusion of rock and jazz across the decades.
Famously estranged from his son Ginger Baker's health has been the subject of speculation.
Now his family have issued a short statement on social media, explaining that he is "critically ill" in hospital.
There's no word yet as to what the health issue could be, although Ginger Baker underwent open heart surgery back in 2016.
