Courtney Love has shared raw, caustic new single 'Mother' – check it out now.
The song was recorded as part of a film score project, and will appear on the soundtrack to new Floria Sigismondi directed venture The Turning.
The film will star Finn Wolfhard and reaches cinemas on January 24th, the same day as the all-star soundtrack drops.
Produced by Los Angeles singer/songwriter Lawrence Rothman and producer Yves Rothman, the soundtrack features an incredible cast, moving from Mitski and Soccer Mommey through to Kim Gordon via Alice Glass, girl in red, and Finn Wolfhard's new band The Aubreys.
The film is linked to Henry James' literary work The Turn of the Screw, while the score was designed to echo the culture surrounding 90s rock music.
Lawrence Rothman co-wrote 'Mother' with Courtney Love, and it's a piercing return from the Hole front-woman.
She explains: “I read The Turn of the Screw as a kid, so it’s a genuine privilege to have had the opportunity to work with the genius that is Floria Sigismondi and Lawrence Rothman on this soundtrack – especially as I’m alongside so many other fantastic female artists I respect.”
“I’ve long admired her work, particularly The Runaways and the Marilyn Manson videos. Floria and Lawrence had a clear vision on what they wanted to achieve and it was an honour to be invited into their studio and to become a part of it.”
