Grunge icon Courtney Love is involved in a high profile court case with fashion designer Dawn Simorangkir, after a series of alleged tirades written by Love appeared on social networking sites.
Courtney Love is enduring a typically turbulent time of late. Money problems have forced the star to move from Los Angeles, while her much trumpeted second solo album has experienced many delays.
In a series of messages to fans Love hinted that the album would appear on January 1st of this year. However, to date no new material has surfaced.
The singer is accused of libel and breach of contract. Dawn Simorangkir is also known as Boudoir Queen, and claims that she completed work for Love which she has never been paid for. In addition to this the designer claims that Love has made “menacing and disturbing” statements about her on social networking sites.
The singer is well known for being a fan of such sites as Twitter and Myspace, frequently updating her blogs to allow fans to gain a glimpse of the less heralded aspects of her life. Unfortunately, it seems that Courtney Love may have overstepped the mark in her criticism of Boudoir Queen, who she labelled a “nasty lying hosebag thief” before accusing her of being a drug addict and a prostitute.
Love has made no response to the allegations.
