Courteeners Announce New Album ‘Pink Cactus Café’

It's out on October 25th...

Manchester heroes Courteeners will release new album ‘Pink Cactus Café’ on October 25th.

The indie evergreens are back, plotting a summer of epic festival appearances. Hitting Glasgow this weekend for TRNSMT, the group will also have a surprise for fans – some brand new material.

New album ‘Pink Cactus Café’ is out this Autumn, and it features some curious guests – Australian outfit DMAs appear, alongside Brooke Candy, and Pixey.

New single ‘Solitude Of The Night Bus’ comes from a moment of introspection, with Liam Fray going through a period of self-doubt. Rising to its affirming conclusion, there’s also some bonus whistling at the whimsical climax.

Liam Fray comments…

This came at a time of real questioning. Things weren’t going particularly well. No confidence. No direction. I think that’s why – whisper it – it’s on the fun side. This is the new us. I’d previously worked with Ola [Modupe-Ojo] on ‘Hanging Off Your Cloud’ and, like then, there was just a magic in the room that was irresistible. It’s a summer breeze. But it’s a winter’s night. Either way, sometimes you have to block out the noise.

My late Uncle Pat loved a whistle so it’s a bit of a homage to him. Get on the bus; headphones in; go your own way. It’s the feel good, imposter syndrome hit of the summer.

Dom Foster directs the video, which traces Liam Fray’s titular nocturnal journey – riding the No. 17 bus, the artwork from ‘Pink Cactus Café’ comes to life around him.

Tune in now.
