Ireland-born, London-based artist Cosha follows up the languid sway of ‘Sun Back’ with new single ‘Want You Back’.
A glazed reverie of emotion, ‘Want You Back’ sees Cosha reminisce about a lost love over an understated Alté beat. Of the inspiration behind the wistful number, Cosha says:
“With most life changing decisions comes a murmur in the aftermath, a nagging feeling in the wake of new realities setting in and a question that lingers, “did I make the right decision? When all I held onto was courage venturing into unknown territory, I hadn’t given thought to how I would feel once I got there. ‘Want You Back’ encapsulates my first stumble on a new, rocky terrain and my body’s natural reaction to want to retreat to a safe place.”
In 2021, Cosha released her debut album ‘Mt.Pleasant’ which featured co-production from Mura Masa and Emile Haynie, and vocal assists by Shy Girl and Coby Sey. With a project due in 2024, Cosha’s new epoch sees her seek sanctuary away from the city, returning to her roots as a nature-dweller.
