Confidence Man and The KLF will combine for a special exhibition in Soho next month.
The immersive experience is labelled the Emergency Chill Clinic, and it finds Confidence Man aligning with the reclusive rave-pop mavericks.
A merging of two distinctive cultural forces, the project was sparked into life after The KLF’s Jimmy Cauty reached out to the Australian party-starters.
Emergency Chill Clinic (ECC) is – the press note states – “a recovery experience for post-rave-goers in need of decompression.”
A kind of art happening meets an old-fashioned chill out room, the experience seemingly echoes a hospital environment, and will incorporate film, sound, and sensory care.
The centrepiece of the experience is the Emergency Chill Clinic Film by Jimmy Cauty – an ambient visual journey paired with a reimagined soundtrack of Confidence Man’s ‘3AM (LA LA LA)’, also remixed by TowerBlock1.
“Jimmy said, Bill [Drummond] and I used to ask ourselves, ‘What would The KLF do?’, and then do it,” says Planet. “He was like, you should do that with Confidence Man.”
