Conchúr White Introduces Debut Album ‘Swirling Violets’

A beautiful voice from County Armagh...

Conchúr White will release his debut album ‘Swirling Violets’ early next year.

Freshly signed to Bella Union, the County Armagh voice is a special new talent. Settling down to construct his debut album, he set about placing his folk-rooted work in a different context, using floral, a times baroque, arrangements.

Recording in different places, debut album ‘Swirling Violets’ gradually came into being. Due to be released on January 19th, it’s led by beautiful new song ‘I Did Good Today’, with its palpable emotion and floral tones.

He comments: “‘I Did Good Today’ is a song about craving validation but understanding that such approval can come at the expense of honesty or integrity. Musically I reference the likes of Midlake, Aldous Harding and Bleachers. The track was recorded in a Belfast church with producers Danny Morgan Ball and Kris Platt and mixed in London by Matt Wiggins.”

Opening with that unforgettable line “here comes the kiss of death, you can smell it on my breath” it’s a song tinged in darkness – tune in now.
