Featuring Mumford & Sons and more...

The Communion project is set to be the subject of a new triple disc compilation titled 'The Flowerpot Sessions'.

The vast fame of Mumford & Sons belies the band's humble origins. Making music in their local pub, the loose knit collective gradually found a distinct songwriting style. Finding huge success, the band have been determined to keep that collective sensibility.

Organising a series of events under the Communion banner, the club night was founded by Mumford & Sons’ Ben Lovett, Kev Jones, and producer Ian Grimble.

Held at the Flowerpot in London, the shows would see the trio joined by a makeshift cast of guests. New ideas were tried out, and over time complete songs would emerge from the collective.

Aside from Mumford & Sons, guest musicians included Lissie, Angus & Julia Stone, Marcus Foster, and Sarah Blasko. Launching a new website, Communion are allowing fans to stream exclusive footage from the events.

Now Communion have confirmed a mammoth compilation. Reflecting the sheer volume of music created by the collective, the new triple disc collection 'The Flowerpot Sessions' gathers together music from a number of different shows.

A homage to the now defunct Kentish Town venue, 'The Flowerpot Sessions' features a bonus DVD featuring footage from the week long Communion curated event.

Due to be released on May 30th, 'The Flowerpot Sessions' will be followed by the Bushstock Festival. Shifted to June due to unforeseen circumstances, the event will run across four venues in Shepherds Bush.

Featuring more than thirty acts, Bushstock will host performances from a number of Communion approved acts. Full line up details and ticket information is set to be confirmed shortly.
