Comet Gain / Crystal Stilts Team Up

New collaboration confirmed

Comet Gain and Crystal Stilts have collaborated on forthcoming album ‘Cinema Red And Blue’.

Indie pop is currently at a prominence it has not enjoyed in two decades. It seems that the internet is awash with blogs extolling the virtues of Sarah Records, with labels such as Slumberland gaining recognition.

In a new move, one of Britain’s most respected indie pop groups Comet Gain are set to combine with Brooklyn newcomers Crystal Stilts for a highly ambitious Transatlantic collaboration.

‘Cinema Red And Blue’ was constructed earlier this year, and unites two well respected groups. Comet Gain are cult heroes, releasing a string of whimsical, ultra-catchy singles on tiny labels across the land.

The British group have teamed up with Crystal Stilts, who are part of a new wave of indie pop bands coming out of Brooklyn. Set to be released on What’s Your Rupture Records, the 12 track release contains some surprising guest stars.

Hamish Kilgour is a member of The Clean, who helped establish New Zealand as a hub of indie pop back in the 80s. Still making music, Kilgour is joined by a number of up and coming acts.

Gary Olson from Still Flyin’ makes an appearance, with the album reaching from Comet Gain penned original and covers from the likes of The Chills, Julian Cope, Dead Moon, Len Bright Combo and Vic Godard.

A unique experiment, the album is set to be available on both sides of the Atlantic. As a preview for fans, the label have made album track ‘Same Mistakes’ available as a free download.
