Colm Warren has shared his brand new single, ‘Dead Days’.
Embracing a gritty, dynamic instrumentation, the Northern Irish songwriter delivers one of his strongest performances to date. Reaching into the future of technology and the eventual impact it’ll have on our lives, ‘Dead Days’ is a cutting record, a sonic flashback to Warren’s early punk days. Accompanied by cinematic visuals directed by Tetsuhiko Endo, the music video captures the meeting point between humans and robots, a somewhat humorous yet nightmarish encounter.
Establishing himself across the local live circuit, Colm Warren has been going from strength to strength. With just a string of singles, the artist has brought a versatile force to rock music, leaning into more emotive songwriting and rich compositions. Recent release ‘Dead Days’ adds to Warren’s collaborative work, seeing him spend time in the studio with John Bryne and producer Joe Egan.
Speaking on the underlying sentiments of the track, Warren shares: “Dead Days is essentially a comment on inequality and stacked odds for working people in a society where the economic gap between the richest and poorest is only widening. With AI also a very real threat to jobs, art and how we understand and access truth/information, the song is essentially meant as a cautionary tale, written from the point of view of a “working man” in need of help and hope.”
Tune in now.
