Coldplay Plan Concept Album?

Chris Martin hints at new direction

In an interview with the BBC Chris Martin has revealed that Coldplay’s next album will be a concept album.

Martin explained, “It’s from the point of view of two people who are a bit lost, two like-minded outsiders who meet in a very difficult environment and therefore have a journey together.”

The band are again working with Brian Eno, who himself just released a new album, ‘A Small Craft On A Milk Sea’ on Warp Records, with Martin crediting him with the concept album direction, “Brian is the sower of seeds and ideas and experimenting, which is very liberating. Then Marcus’s job is to come in after all that’s been done and try and sculpt it into some kind of releasable format.”

Coldplay have entered this Christmas’ number one race this year with their ‘Christmas Lights’ track released on 1st December.
