Coldplay have revealed their reasons for choosing Girls Aloud as support for their Wembley Stadium gig next September.
The band’s drummer, Will Champion said “They’re going to be so much fun and that’s ultimately what we want to do. Sometimes we find ourselves taking ourselves very, very seriously and we don’t want too much head scratching or brow furrowing. Ultimately we want people to have a happy time.”?Girls Aloud join Coldplay onstage September 18th, the day before Coldplay are supported in the same venue by Jay-Z.
Will Champion told BBC 6Music that they had chosen these two acts to make their fans happy and simply because they are the “best in their field”.
Coldplay’s two Wembley dates are a section of a small stadium tour, including performances in Glasgow and Manchester.
Update: Coldplay have just announced a very special date for their Irish fans. Set in Dublin’s historic Phoenix Park, the massive show will take place on September 14th.
