Coldplay In New York Show

Band Play Big Apple Extravaganza

Current transatlantic number one chart stompers Coldplay finished their series of free shows last night with a spectacular concert in New York’s Madison Square Gardens.

The band had previously played free shows in London and Barcelona, before finishing by taking a chunk out of the Big Apple. The show was plagued by difficulties, with Johnny Buckland’s guitar malfunctioning amongst a host of other problems.

However, Coldplay persevered with frontman Chris Martin taking time to joke with the crowd, at one point warning the free-ticketed crowd that “there are no refunds”. After a few technical difficulties the singer told the crowd “this is embarrassing. Let’s go home. We come over here, we steal your women and we can’t even play one song.”

Coldplay currently sit at number one on both the singles and album charts in the UK and the US. Currently on the cover of Clash Magazine, you can read exclusive on-line excerpts from the interview here.
