Coldplay Hit Number One

Transatlantic Triumph For Band

Coldplay have topped the UK singles charts for the first time in their career, with “Viva La Vida” claiming pole spot in an historic week for the band.

On Thursday Coldplay were confirmed as number one on the Billboard Hot 100, meaning they are the first UK band in 11 years to hit pole position on the US singles charts. Their new album “Viva La Vida Or Death And All His Friends” remains a soaraway seller claiming number one on album charts either side of the Atlantic.

Coldplay narrowly missed out on having two singles in the UK top 10 chart as “Violet Hill” currently sits at number 11.
