Cockermouth Festival – commonly known as CockRock – could be set to sue Wiley after his shorter than scheduled headline performance.
Don't book Wiley to play a farm. If this summer's festival season has taught us one thing, it's that the grime kingpin is more at home in the clubs of Ayia Napa than the fields of Albion.
Which is, of course, his prerogative. However a scheduled appearance at Cockermouth Festival could well land Wiley with a court case, after the organisers began to pursue damages.
Fresh from his Glastonbury furore, Wiley blasted the festival on Twitter in the run up to his performance. Walking out to jeers and a number of missiles from the crowd, the rapper performed for 15 minutes before making his exit.
Festival organisers claim that the rapper had "breached his contract" and were now looking at "all angles of the damage" Wiley may have caused.
Ticket sales for the event were seemingly lower year on year, something CockRock organisers attribute to Wiley's bad press. "We do know that a lot of people didn't think he was coming," spokesperson Maire Whitehead told the BBC.
