In a cloud of hazy guitars and ethereal vocals, Coach Party have finally dropped the title-track of their upcoming EP. ‘Nothing Is Real’ serves as the third taste of the upcoming April 29th release, and shows yet another side to the bittersweet indie-rockers.
‘Nothing Is Real’ feels like a dreamscape; Jess Eastwood’s gentle vocals echo out over light instrumentals, the sound gorgeously weightless. This is a track that accepts its vulnerabilities, revelling in introspection and reflection.
The track is far softer than the cutting ‘FLAG’ or playful ‘Weird Me Out’, hinting at an entirely different side to the quartet. Speaking on the upcoming EP, Eastwood comments: “We wanted each song to be its own event, and to make a record which couldn’t be played from start to finish without demanding attention.”
Coach Party are sure to knock out this ethereal wonder at an upcoming tour date. There’s still a chance to catch them supporting The Mysterines, with the final date being April 2nd in Liverpool. If not, the quartet are embarking on a headline tour this April/May, kicking it off in London’s Oslo on April 28th.
If not, there’s still plenty of opportunities to catch Coach Party this year. The group are also going to be at a healthy number of festivals this Summer – Dot To Dot, Live At Leeds, Tramlines, Truck and YNot to name a few. So, really, there’s no excuse not to get involved in the party – and those sharp, scuzzy riffs are sure to suit that glorious sunshine perfectly.
Tune in now.
