Liverpudlian mavericks Clinic are set to release new album ‘Free Reign’ on November 12th.
Clinic are a law unto themselves. For the band’s seventh album, the group rarely ventured beyond the confines of Liverpool and were happy to lock themselves away in their studio base.
Yet the final mix of ‘Free Reign’ was completed by Daniel Lopatin. Making explicit the latest psychedelia in Lopatin’s own work – and, indeed, the charity shop electronics in Clinic – the match has left us politely intrigued.

‘Free Reign’ is set to be available in all the usual formats – CD, vinyl, download – but Clinic being Clinic something special has been organised.
The album was also be released in limited edition UFO format: an exclusive, glow-in-the-dark, cosmic flying disc which comes complete with a download code. Sounds suspiciously like a frisbee to us…
