CHVRCHES Open A Fresh Chapter With New Single ‘Over’

The band's first new single in 12 months...

CHVRCHES have shared their new single ‘Over’.

The new track is the trio’s first release since lauded 2021 album ‘Screen Violence’, and comes ahead of a South American stadium run in support of Coldplay.

‘Over’ seems to yearn for wide open spaces, with CHVRCHES retaining the dark pop venom of their earlier work yet transplanting it into a much broader landscape. An ambitious return, you can hear aspects of The Cure in its DNA – small wonder, given that goth icon Robert Smith is a CHVRCHES collaborator.

Out now, ‘Over’ finds CHVRCHES working alongside producer Oscar Holter, and it eases the Scottish group out of their ‘Screen Violence’ era, racing towards something new and hitherto unexplored.

CHVRCHES comment…

‘Over’ is a song that we wrote with Oscar Holter, a producer we really respect and admire. Normally we collect songs over the course of months (or years!) until we have an album’s worth of material, but this time we just wanted to release something we were excited about and give the fans something new to mark the end of the ‘Screen Violence’ era, and the start of whatever the next CHVRCHES chapter might be.

Tune in now.
