CHVRCHES’ singer Lauren Mayberry has confirmed new solo activity.
The Scottish group are toasting 10 years of their debut album, the acclaimed and globally successful ‘The Bones Of What You Believe’. Right now, though, Lauren Mayberry is looking to the future, with some fresh solo ideas.
New music – alongside a number of collaborators – is seemingly incoming, with the singer laying out plans for four UK headline shows.
Opening at Glasgow’s intimate Oran More on October 5th, Lauren Mayberry will then play Birmingham, Manchester, and London. Tickets go on sale shortly.
“For a long time, I couldn’t imagine ever doing anything outside of CHVRCHES,” she says. “But as I sail / stumble through this era of my life, it has started to feel like there are things I want to write and say and do that need to be done on my own. This solo project, I hope, will be my fun, freaky, sad, weird, joyful pop playground and I am so looking forward to sharing it with you.”
