Camp Bestival, a unique music event taking place at Dorset’s Lulworth Castle, has announced two exciting new additions to their bill. Chuck Berry – having just blown out eighty one candles on his birthday cake – will be rockin’ the Main Stage on Friday. Cult American oddballs the Flaming Lips, meanwhile, have also been added to the bill and will headline the Main Stage on Saturday night.
The event will be brought to you by the kind folks behind the annual Bestival event, and promises to be a singular musical experience. Curated by Rob Da Bank the bill already includes a highly varied mix, from Kid Creole to King Creosote, covering virtually every musical genre imaginable. The organisers aim to turn back time to the glory days of 1950s holiday camps, and Camp Bestival will come with its own band of Bluecoats.
The addition of veteran rock ‘n’ roller Berry, and the off-the-wall genius of Flaming Lips, look set to make Camp Bestival one of the most talked-about events of the summer. The festival takes place between the 18th – 20th July 2008.
