Fleetwood Mac's critical rehabilitation is almost complete.
For years, the band languished in the sidelines – popular, sure, but also reviled by Those In The Know. Now lauded by a new generation of artists, Fleetwood Mac sealed their return with a lavish British tour last year.
Yet there was one person missing… Christine McVie had held out of the re-union, with Stevie Nicks warning fans back in 2012 that "there’s no more a chance of (a re-union with McVie) happening than an asteroid hitting the Earth". (via FACT)
Well, get ready for those asteroids. At a show in Hawaii drummer Mick Fleetwood told the crowd: "This is the worst kept secret there is, but Christine McVie will be rejoining Fleetwood Mac".
The news follows swiftly on from a recent Guardian feature in which McVie expressed genuine fondness for her days in Fleetwood Mac. "I miss them all" she said. "If they were to ask me I would probably be very delighted… but it hasn’t happened so we’ll have to wait and see".
Meanwhile, rumours are still circulating that Fleetwood Mac will perform at this year's Glastonbury festival.
Will it happen? Check back and see…
