Chrissi Shares ‘Back In The Day’ EP

The Essex native steps into the limelight...

A fast becoming critical darling, Chrissi has unveiled debut EP 'Back In The Day', and the visual for new single 'Tracksuit'.

Music has been a core component for the Essex-born singer since she was young, traversing a multitude of genres throughout her formative years. Amongst the rhythms of soca, house, UK garage, R&B and soul, an ambition to pursue music was fuelled, and indeed it's these same influences that have shaped Chrissi's sound today.

Her debut EP 'Back In The Day', is an honest body of work, delving into themes of infatuation, romance and heartbreak. Accompanying her resonant voice is vibrant, frank storytelling over slinky, soulful production.

With BERWYN crafting the sonics beneath tracks like 'Silly Little Girl', the pair's collaborative partnership has led to Chrissi supporting the Mercury Prize nominee on his upcoming tour. Chrissi has also premiered the video for single 'Tracksuit'; directed by Natty Kasambala, it captures the singer at her most playful, coated in warm tones and aesthetics.

Chrissi had this to say about the EP:

"I wrote these songs before I knew a lot about myself. When I listen, I hear desperation for love or an idea of love, whether the mood is really beautiful and poetic. I think the songs on the EP are for people who cry about people they've never even dated or been in a relationship with. The not real situations that we feel real emotions about, which I think is a universal experience."

Tune in now.
