Chris Ostler has shared his brand new single, ‘Jam it up Muso’.
A smooth, groovy offering from the Exeter musician, the track seamlessly merges the influences of rock and funk. Focussed on instrumentation, Ostler levels up his riffs, percussion and basslines, layering his versatile melodies over the top. Vocally, the artist channels an urgency, a vibrancy in his tones that can leap between gritty textures, stripped-back performances or rap-like verses.
Fresh off the release of his latest EP ‘CO2’, Ostler ventures in new directions across a refreshing collection of tracks. Building a buzz with anthemic ballad ‘The Sun & The Moon’ and ‘Funk In The Trunk’, the project highlights his natural affinity for songwriting and storytelling, embarking the listener on a journey from start to finish. Previously supporting the likes of Joan Armatrading and Chris Barron, the artist’s new material lends itself to live performance, opting for a more honest and raw approach.
‘Jam it up Muso’ marks an exciting turning point for Chris Ostler, revealing a multi-dimensional artist on the rise.
Speaking on his latest project, Ostler expands: “I want to share with listeners and help them relive the immensity and power of life itself; we have so many emotional experiences, some amazingly positive, and of course, some challenging, but through music we can collectively support each other and enjoy the beauty of everything we experience. If we’re writing our own melodies of life, let’s make them as colourful as possible.”
Tune in now.
