Chlöe Shares Strident RnB Anthem ‘FYS’

“F*ck your status, it don’t matter / Money, cars and the diamonds / Don’t faze me, I been had it..."

Atlanta artist Chlöe has today shared new single, ‘FYS’, via Parkwood/Columbia.

The surprise release comes a year after the singer unveiled her debut solo album ‘In Pieces’, a collection CLASH said “bridged prayer with pop melodrama”. ‘FYS’ (‘Fuck Your Status’) teases a new era for Chlöe, a bold departure from the emotionally brittle feel of its predecessor. With allusions to the murky, mercurial RnB of early Chloe x Halle, but considerably more earthy and lyrically risqué, on ‘FYS’ Chlöe isn’t fazed by material goods or esteemed reputation – her satisfaction comes from her own agency.

It’s yet to be seen if ‘FYS’ is part of a forthcoming project, but both Chlöe and her sister, Halle Bailey, have teased more solo releases, and the return of their acclaimed sister act. Additionally, Chlöe is gearing up for her first ever solo Coachella performance, set to take place at this year’s festival in April.
