'(At Least Those) Kids Are Getting Fed'

China Rats are set to release debut single '(At Least Those) Kids Are Getting Fed' on October 8th.

Almost frighteningly young, China Rats only formed last summer. Yet in that time the band have chalked up dates across the continent, including a remarkable stand in slot at Benicassim when Bat For Lashes dropped out.

Ploughing the kind of rough 'n' ready rock 'n' roll which made The Ramones or The Clash so beloved, China Rats are now ready to release their debut single.

Huw Stephens gave '(At Least Those) Kids Are Getting Fed' its first airing on Radio 1 last night, with the track set to be officially released on October 8th.

Available through Once Upon A time Records, the single was seemingly inspired by the impoverished area of Leeds which houses the band's rehearsal room. Singer Graeme Thomson: "Recently me and Luke were living in Armley which has got a reputation of being a pretty run down part of Leeds. We loved it though and the band still rehearses there. We wrote a bunch of songs whilst we were living there including 'Kids Are Getting Fed' which was influenced by the local kids who used to hang out on our street".

'(At Least Those) Kids Are Getting Fed' is set to be released on October 8th. China Rats have also outlined plans for the following shows:

23 Leeds Festival
27 Leeds Oporto
29 London Old Blue Last

22 Manchester FAC251
25 Glasgow King Tuts
29 London The Macbeth

2 London The Social
6 Nottingham Rescue Rooms
