Chilly Gonzales has announced details of his forthcoming album ‘Ivory Tower’ and an accompanying film featuring himself, Tiga and Peaches.
The album, his first since 2006’s ‘Solo Piano’, is released on August 30th with Boys Noize (Alex Ridha) helping out on production. The accompanying film, which see Gonzales and Tiga cast as brothers fighting over both a girl, Peaches, and a chess title. Described as an “existential sports comedy” it is set to get a UK airing at the Screen on the Green cinema in London on 26th August.
The album, ‘Ivory Tower’, is a neat blend of Gonzales fierce piano skills, Boys Noize pulsating production and the surreal/hilarious lyrics, including ‘I Am Europe”s, “I’m a dog shit ash tray, I’m a shrugging moustache, wearing a Speedo tuxedo… I’m an Imperial armpit, sweating Chianti, I’m a toilet with no seat, flushing tradition down… I’m gay pastry and racist Cappuccino”.
You can catch Chilly Gonzales live at this year’s Bestival Festival as well as a special acoustic free show in Levi’s Regents Street shop in London. Tickets are available from Levi’s Facebook page HERE.
