Chilli Peppers New Material

Band to regroup in October

The Red Hot Chilli Peppers are to regroup in October to begin recording of new material.

Drummer Chad Smith told Billboard, “It’ll be two years in September, so now we’re ready. You can’t force people to play when they don’t want to play or aren’t ready to play or whatever – not in our band, anyway.”

The songs would form the group’s first new material since 2006’s Rick Rubin produced ‘Stadium Arcadium’. Good news for fans following the ongoing speculation regarding guitarist John Frusciante who recently quashed rumours of a potential split from the band, calling them “nonsense”.
