Red Hot Chili Peppers frontman Anthony Kiedis’ autobiography is reportedly set to be adapted for a new TV show on US network HBO.
The book was titled ‘Scar Tissue’ and was a memorable tale of life at the top of rock ‘n’ roll for nearly fifteen years. The rights to the memoir have been bought by the award winning US channel HBO, responsible for The Sopranos, Curb Your Enthusiasm and more.
According to British daily broadsheet the Guardian the show is set to be produced by Marc Abrams and Michael Benson and will be an offbeat comedy. The show will reportedly focus on Kiedis’ early years in Los Angeles where he lived with his father who acted as a drug dealer for The Who, Led Zeppelin and many other rock giants. In the book Kiedis reveals that at one point Cher was his baby-sitter. The show is set to include musicians in the area and beyond.
Red Hot Chili Peppers announced earlier this year that they would go on hiatus for at least a year from May 2008, with band members commencing solo projects.
